Newcomers Club of Raleigh

The International Coffee Group meets at the Thatchers for a luncheon in May and for a trip in December to the Raleigh Art Museum to see the Rembrandt Exhibit.

On October 25th, the Gadabouts traveled to The Lassiter at North Hills to visit the Midtown Olive Press.

This event was held at the Weathervane Restaurant, A Southern Season, in Chapel Hill, NC. The members had a nice lunch and then shopped the store.

The Newcomers Club of Raleigh donated the historical scrapbooks and newsletters to The Olivia Raney Local History Library in Raleigh. Two scrapbooks were retained for display at Welcome Coffees and luncheons.

The September evening social/mixer was held at the J.J. Crowder Masonic Lodge. The attendees provided the food. The mixer was a time to renew acquaintances, meet new friends, meet the Board of Directors and the Interest Group leaders, and to have fun playing some mixer games.

The Stitch 'N' Chat Interest Group met at the home of Judy Pavuk in September.

Welcome Coffees, Friday, May 6 and September 02, at 10:00am. To recruit new members and socialize. The Coffees were held at the J.J. Crowder Masonic Lodge #743, located at the NE corner of Falls of Neuse and Durant Roads.

The Mah Jongg Interest Group meets every Monday (excluding some holidays) at 1:00pm at the Raleigh Moose Lodge on Forestville Road in Wake Forest. The group leaders are Barbara Burman and Marge Misiano.

Here are some Newcomers at the Fun & Games Interest Group meeting on Saturday evening, August 13, at the home of Frank and Judy Pavuk.

The euchre players meet at member's homes the first Saturday of each month. This group is led by Janice and Rich Cramer.

The June Luncheon was held on Tuesday, June 21, 2001 at the State Farmers' Market Restaurant in Raleigh. 24 members enjoyed a nice lunch and shopping for products and food all produced and grown in North Carolina.

The Canasta Interest Group meets at The TPC at Wakefield Plantation on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. This group is led by Kathy Tarrington.

This annual luncheon was held at the 18 Seaboard restaurant in Raleigh. At this luncheon we honor our outgoing Board Members of 2010-2011 and usher in our new President and Board of Directors for our club new year of 2011-2012.

This luncheon was held at the Masonic Lodge and featured speaker Andrew Curliss, an investigative reporter with the N & O newspaper.
